I’m currently based in Kentucky
We moved back to our hometown of Somerset, Kentucky in 2022 after each of us (I’m referring to my wife and myself :p) had spent many years elsewhere. Remote work does have some advantages. We felt it advantageous to return here due to the advanced ages of our parents.
We haven’t quite decided where we’ll eventually end up and make our final home just yet – where we’ll be in say, 10 years and never leave from again. Both of us have quite the fondness for Canada, so closeness to the great white north would be considered a bonus. We’re not quite willing to become ex-pats, however.
And as we’ve grown older, we find we like heat less and do not oppose cold, so I do expect us to settle somewhere north of here. Probably and much closer to Canada than our current six-ish hour drive to cross over into Ontario. Not to mention, while Ontario is great, our favorite provinces have been British Columbia, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. Admittedly, I am especially fond of PEI and she really loved Nova Scotia. All three provinces are great, however,.

I’m not quite as active on social media as I was back in the glory days of Digg.com. Incredibly simple algorithm. Within days of discovering the site, I was in the ranks of those pushing content to the front page each and every day.
By the time I left the site towards the end of Web 2.0, I had risen to be a top 10 digger in terms of front page publications worldwide. While Digg is just a memory, I am a mod on a subreddit that’s in the top 2% of all subreddits in consumer electronics, dealing with a phone make and model I’m quite fond of.
Again, I’m not extremely active on social media, but despite the limited nature, I do still maintain accounts everywhere. The basics are here – but you can also find me elsewhere, like Instagram, Reddit, TikTok, Snapchat and more if you know who you’re looking for.
